Light as a feather
Last Saturday, I had one of those moments that you look back on and ask yourself: "Did that really happen?" I was standing in the maintenance shop with another employee when we heard something buzzing and banging against a window in the shop. At first, I though it was just a large bug of some sort tangled in some spiderwebs, but then I took a closer look. A hummingbird had flown through the open double doors and then couldn't find its way out. I sent the other employee for something to put over the poor little thing, but then I just put my hands gently around the bird and it stopped panicking and used one of my fingers for a perch. I have felt dandelion fluff that was heavier than this little bird. I walked outside and opened my hands slightly, and it was gone in a flash, apparently no worse for wear from its ordeal.
